We have a new sneak peek into Diablo Immortal from BlizzCon 2019. While the alleged leaked release date didn’t materialize, we do at least have a better idea on what to expect when the game does come out.
NEW ZONES
We have our first looks into several new zones. Wortham looks like your typical town hub, presumably one you can travel to by boat. We could reasonably expect the town to behave the same way as mainline Diablo games, just on a smaller scale.
The Dark Wood has ominous flora and fauna, and seems to have a cave system as well.
Could Tamoe Mountain be a starting zone for the Monk, considering the statues? Nothing much can be gleaned from the quick preview, apart from it having stone structures that could be temples or ruins.
Next up is Ashwold Cemetery. Can’t go a Diablo game without spooky skeletons and undead, can we?
CLASS SPOTLIGHT
The Demon Hunter shows off their stuff, with acrobatic moves and dual-wielding guns or crossbow-guns. Looks like the class might be pretty good in dealing with both single enemies and a larger crowd. Look at those moves, and the spreadshot for clearing mobs!
WORLD EVENT
It would appear that you’ll be able to co-op with other players in a possibly server-wide event, going by the name. We can see several characters work together to clear the monsters from stopping the ghostly carriage.
LEGENDARY ITEMS
Let’s not forget the loot in Diablo! There will be legendary items, showing off unique effects. The Flamesprite looks to be a flaming crossbow that can give off quite demonic after-images.
Winter’s Remorse seems to be a Wizard item, capable of sending out a ball of frost that will move through enemies.
The Monk shows off Inna’s Palm. It looks to apply a debuff to enemies in a radius.
The Storm Bringer wielded by the Barbarian can summon a giant hammer to knock down enemies in an area. Looking closely and taking into account its name, it might be capable of lightning damage too.
ULTIMATES
Last but not least, the skills. The Necromancer here is showing off an Ultimate, firing off homing, glowing skull projectiles. The Demon Hunter seems to get a spread-shot with a red glowing effect. With what seems to be a Wizard, they appear capable of firing off chain lightning. The Monk shows off their glowing fists and presumably a super-mode. The Crusader seems to get a Divine Shield, with attacks assumed to be either ineffective or severely neutered. The Barbarian goes wild with a large swinging axe, perfect for carving through a horde of enemies.
That’s all there is for this Diablo Immortal sneak peek. You can check out the official website for screenshots, and pre-register for the game.
