Speaking of iconic things from the past, Black Rock Shooter: Dawnfall is a new anime project related to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the titular Black Rock Shooter. huke‘s original illustration has since spawned a song – featuring none other than Hatsune Miku -, manga, a game and a previous anime series in the past years, besides whatever merchandise that followed, of course.
At present, there’s not much information regarding the production of the anime, though we do have huke’s comment about the announcement:
A new anime installment for Black★Rock Shooter…? Like, for real?! When I received this offer, I was just as surprised as all of you fans out there.
I hope you will look forward to where Black★Rock Shooter is headed. It’s hard to believe all this started from a single illustration.
An English portal has been opened dedicated to Black Rock Shooter – found here – which should be gradually updated with news about the Dawnfall anime, as well as the series history so far. 18 to 19 September will see an exhibition corner dedicated to the series at the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair, where we can probably expect more details about the project. With a new season of WonFes also coming right up, fans may want to hold on to their wallets.
