GameScience has released patch 1.0.12.16581 for Black Myth: Wukong, introducing significant gameplay update and quality-of-life improvements. Players who have completed the main game can now access two new challenge modes at any Keeper’s Shrine: the “Return of Rivals” mode, which allows players to duel previous opponents at three difficulty levels, and the “Gauntlet of Legends,” which challenges players to fight multiple enemies in succession with customizable difficulty through unique curses.
Both challenge modes offer exclusive rewards, including rare items such as new medicines, drinks, weapons, and equipment like the “Three Hill Crown” and “Qing Mallet”. However, players can only challenge enemies they have previously defeated in the main campaign. The update also addresses a previous criticism about navigation by introducing Journeyer’s Charts, which players can purchase for new territories at the Keeper’s Shrine, beginning when they first reach Black Wind Mountain.
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the patch adds an Armor Set of Opulence with four special armor pieces available through the “Trailblazer’s Gift” at any Keeper’s Shrine. Additionally, a new soundtrack application has been included, though some tracks are restricted due to copyright limitations.
GameScience warns players about potential issues with mod compatibility and recommends uninstalling mods and verifying Black Myth: Wukong game files before installing the update. The update may require additional disk space for temporary storage and includes numerous bug fixes affecting bosses, game levels, protagonist abilities, and overall performance.
The patch also introduces several technical improvements, including performance optimizations for various graphics technologies, bug fixes for crashes and flickering, and enhanced localization with added language support for Turkish and improvements to existing translations.
