This year at Gamescom 2017, Black Desert Mobile was announced to be coming out late this year and more details were revealed by Pearl Abyss, the developer for the Mobile version. An interview with Jeehyun Hwang, the director of Pearl Abyss, mentioned that no mobile MMORPG actually succeeded in the western market, however he hoped that Black Desert Mobile will be the first ever.
Coming down to the features that the game offers, like many mobile ARPGs there is an auto-battle feature in the game because it is already common for mobile games. Of course players will be able to choose to turn on or off the auto-battle feature. Though the game was built based on the PC version, Jeehyun Hwang confirms that there will be mobile exclusive content such as the Private Manor feature that was revealed in the announcement trailer.
Black Desert Mobile will offer players a different experience compared to the PC version. While it is an MMORPG which offers non-targeting combat, extensive customization and life content which also focuses on competitive experience, it definitely will be different on mobile. The director of Pearl Abyss also mentioned that the mobile version will not be pay-to-win like most mobile games in the market which is good news for avid mobile gamers.
The game is slated to be released for the global market and there will not be released for any specific regions. We can expect the game to be released anytime within this next quarter of the year.
