Pearl Abyss Japan looks to be publishing Black Clover Mobile for, well, Japan. The game itself is developed by Korean-based VIC GAME STUDIO, with the first announcement and promotional video showcase released at Jump Festa 2022. Despite the name, Jump Festa 2022 was held on the 18 – 19 December 2021 weekend. Anyway, check out the video below:
For the time being, Black Clover Mobile appears to be a placeholder name. Planned to launch in 2022, it looks to retread the anime in a 3DCG style. Besides some bombastic cutscenes and animations, other aspects of the game include some exploration in town areas that may potentially work similarly to Slime ISEKAI MEMORIES.
The trailer also shows how the character screens look like, with characters showing off their skills. There’s a level cap of 20, with perhaps two different limit break systems (four for the clover, and five stars), and some “rank up” mechanic. Perhaps somewhat hilarious is the fact that the sample screenshot above already has a skewed elemental distribution.
This isn’t the first mobile game that the series has gotten, the ill-fated Phantom Knights title from Bandai Namco Entertainment having shut down about a year ago. You could say this one has much higher production value and all, and could see more success. Whether or not it would be available globally at launch is unknown at this juncture, so stay tuned.
