Following its reveal at Jump Festa 2022, VIC GAME STUDIOS could be launching Black Clover Mobile sometime Q3 2022. This would follow a closed beta period for Japan and Korea Q2 2022. There are also plans for a global launch for Black Clover Mobile, but it does not appear be a simultaneous release, nor is there confirmation if it will be within 2022. Pearl Abyss Japan isn’t confirmed to be the Japanese publisher, simply that their parent company has invested in VIC GAME STUDIOS. VIC will be publishing the game in Korea.
The game will be a turn-based, hero collector RPG. The game’s presentation and direction is intended to fully immerse fans into the story, while newcomers will be able to get the “sense” and “emotions” of the work. From the trailer thus far, the production value alone is quite impressive, giving glimpses at the animations at work for some exploration, battle cut-ins and the characters.
Meanwhile, Project Breakers is the studio’s take on the open world RPG, with a style inspired by Makoto Shinkai’s movies. There’s not much information on this one at this juncture, besides a planned launch in 2023.
After Phantom Knights shuttered not long after its global release, let’s see how VIC can bring the Black Clover IP to life.
