During our time at the Busan Indie Festival 2023, we got a chance to have a short interview with Lee Seul-June and Cho Sung-Jae, the developers from OAA, creators of PIGROMANCE, an adventure platformer all about a pig exploring a sausage factory.
[Interview is edited for clarity]
PIGROMANCE is an adventure platformer that puts players into the hooves of a male pig that was destined to be turned into sausages and has him explore the dangerous meat factory to find love.
Would you like to introduce yourself?
Lee Seul-June: My name is Seul-June Lee, sound designer from OAA and I make BGM and sound effects, do such things like putting the sounds into the game and making audio systems.
Cho Sung-Jae: I’m a client programmer in OAA. My name is Cho Sung-Jae and I have worked for about one year in this company. Now we are making our game about 90%, so we are about to make our game full release in November or October.
Can you have a short introduction about your game?
Cho Sung-Jae: The story of a boy pig born with the destiny to become a sausage, he is trying to revive his girlfriend and make an escape from a farm and a factory. It’s basically an adventure-type genre.
Share with us your best memory when you were developing this game.
Cho Sung-Jae: So we are trying to make a sound system from scratch. We are building the system and that process is very interesting and an exciting moment because it’s kind of making a real new ecosystem for the game. So when we see the result, we’re very proud.
Is there anything else you want to share?
Cho Sung-Jae: So we are trying very hard to make our game to finish. This game is about to drop in November on Steam. So maybe you guys want to play it, then go to Steam and (download it). We also have a demo version of the game. So, Please enjoy it. Thank you.
