Bethesda is set to officially reveal The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered today, April 22, following months of rumors and recently leaked screenshots. The announcement will take place on Bethesda’s YouTube and Twitch channels at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST.
Industry insiders suggest the remastered title might be released immediately following the reveal. According to leaked information, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will feature a complete visual overhaul of the beloved 2006 RPG along with gameplay improvements. The project is reportedly a collaboration between multiple studios including Bethesda Dallas, Bethesda Rockville, and development support from Virtuos, a company known for its work on major franchises such as Call of Duty, Tomb Raider, and Dark Souls.

Recent leaks from a Virtuos website provided comparison screenshots between the original and remastered versions, along with promotional artwork. The information indicates the game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S (including Game Pass), and PlayStation 5. A Deluxe Edition will reportedly include bonus content such as exclusive weapons and, notably, horse armor—a self-referential nod to the original game’s infamous horse armor DLC that became a long-running joke within the gaming community.
Bethesda has placed a timed presentation titled “All will be revealed…” on their YouTube channel ahead of the announcement, building anticipation among fans of the Elder Scrolls series.
