Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the latest season of Diablo IV, Season 8 will center the return of the Lord of Lies, Belial in Diablo IV: Belial’s Return. This season introduces a new storyline, gameplay mechanics, and rewards centered around the return of Belial this coming April 30.

Among the features included in the latest update are the following:
Unravel the Deception
Belial’s reappearance brings forth mysterious Apparition Monsters across Sanctuary. Players will join forces with new allies, Sayeena, a retired Vizjerei mage, and Jarius, a self-proclaimed knight of the Cathedral of Light, to investigate and combat these threats. To begin this questline, players must have completed the base game campaign and create a new character in the Seasonal Realm.
Harness Boss Powers
A new system allows players to acquire “Boss Powers” by defeating specific bosses. There are 24 bosses, each granting unique abilities with a Main effect and a Modifier. Players can equip one Main and up to three Modifier Powers simultaneously, enabling diverse build customization. These powers are obtained by defeating World Bosses, Event Bosses, and Lair Bosses, including Belial himself.

Lair Boss Rework
The Lair Boss system has been overhauled:
- Lair Bosses are now categorized into Initiate, Greater, and Exalted tiers, reflecting their difficulty and rewards.
- Summoning materials are no longer required; instead, defeating a Lair Boss spawns a loot chest called a Hoard.
- Loot drops have been increased, with higher chances for Unique items, especially when playing in a party.
New Seasonal Content
- Reliquaries: A new Battle Pass system offering both free and premium tiers, providing various cosmetic and gameplay rewards.
- Season Journey Rewards: Completing seasonal objectives grants items like the Resplendent Spark and a new pet, Iris the Cat.
- Tejal’s Shop: New cosmetic bundles, including equipment, armor, accessories, mounts, and mount armor, will be available starting April 29.
All these additions scratch the surface as to what’s further in store for this game. To learn more about the Season 8 features coming soon, refer to Diablo IV’s official page.
