Behold Grand Cathay in the defense of the Great Bastion in Total War: Warhammer III

The latest gameplay video for Total War: Warhammer III sees the wonderous war machine of Grand Cathay as they defend the fabled Grand Bastion. Kairos Fateweaver, Greater Daemon of the Chaos God Tzeentch, will seek to overwhelm the Storm Dragon with his hordes, as she stands resolute to defend her father’s empire.

The Great Bastion stands as a symbol of everlasting defiance, protecting Grand Cathay from the wrath of the Chaos Gods for millennia. The titanic, nigh-impenetrable wall is imbued with ancient magic, running the length of the Celestial Dragon Empire’s northern border with the hostile Chaos Wastes. The three gatehouses make up the unique settlement that has access to its own building chains, and commandments, further capable of being bolstered by the great Wu Xing Compass that channels the Winds of Magic to its aid – providing greater campaign and battle bonuses.

New features in Total War: Warhammer III will allow for greater strategic interplay in the defense of Grand Cathay, including the construction of missile towers and barricades throughout the inner settlement to set up kill corridors for any who dare breach the outer wall.

Tzeentch is the only Chaos God who has managed to find the chink in Grand Cathay’s armour, the Changer of Ways having infiltrated aspects of Cathayan society. This gift of magic and subterfuge is one his minions will be using to wreck havoc on the mortal world. More information about Tzeentch and legendary lord Kairos Fateweaver will be revealed in time.
