Behind the Scenes of Like a Dragon Episode 1 “A Dragon Reborn” Now Out

SEGA released the Behind the Scenes documentary for Like a Dragon titled “A Dragon Reborn” by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Fans of the series can watch the episode over at SEGA Asia’s English Youtube channel here:

This year long behind the scenes documentary series started its production back in October 2021 shortly after the studio’s “new start”.

“A Dragon Reborn” focuses on the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio staffs taking on the challenge of developing “Like a Dragon 8” right after the company’s transition to a new structure. This episode sheds light to behind the scene footage, from motion capture filming to a recording session oversen by Director Masayoshi Yokohama.

Fans get to experience a rare glimpse at the studio through the lenses of a regular staff and see the various endeavors to achieve the realism which separates Ryu Ga Gotoku studio’s games from other works.

Like a Dragon 8 was initially teased at the Ryu Ga Gotoku summit livestream back in September 2022 and serves as a sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The game features Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu as dual protagonists. However, Kasuga will serve as the main protagonist of the game’s story while Kiryu will act as a supporting character.

As of time of writing, there is still no news on the exact release date for Like a Dragon 8 aside from the release window of 2024.
