Malaysian Pokemon TCG fans are in for a treat, the Pokemon TCG Showdown 2024 will be held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Malaysia on 5th January till 7th January 2024.
In the three day event, both Pokemon TCG beginners and enthusiasts are welcomed to either learn to play the game through tutorials and participate in 4-player rotation battles if you’re a beginner, or join in the TCG team battles from various card shops if you’re an experienced player.
Event Overview
The Pokemon TCG Showdown 2024 will be held throughout three days starting from 5th January till 7th January 2024 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Pink Zone, Level 2.
The event will be free entry and fans can head over at 3:30 PM on the 5th January, meanwhile on 6th and 7th January, you can visit much earlier as the event will begin at 10:00 AM.

Event Schedule
TCG Tutorial
The TCG Tutorial will start on 5th January at 6:00 PM, while on 6th and 7th January, the event will begin at 10:00 AM.
Pokemon fans who wish to learn more about the Trading Card Game can do so through walk-in registrations on a first-come, first-served basis.
The tutorial session will last 30 minutes per session and participants will be guided to join the “4-Player Rotation Battle for Beginners” right after the session.
Each participant joining the session will receive One Fun Pack which contains 3 Pokemon TCG cards, 3 Promo cards with the beginner’s session stamp, and One Pokemon Ga-Olé disc featuring Alolan Raichu.
4-Player Rotation Battle for Beginners
Starting right after the TCG Tutorial session, the 4-Player Rotation Battle for Beginners will have players organised into teams of four by the event crew.
Players will need to bring in a Level 1 pre-constructed deck without any alterations in a Standard TCG Format with 60 cards deck and 6 prizes.
Players who join the event can get their hands on 1 Deck Case and 1 Hand bag.
Shop Team Battle
The Shop Team Battle event will have teams representing different card shops in Malaysia battling against each other.

U16 Tournament
The U16 Tournament will begin on 7th January 2024 at 11:00 AM.
To join the U16 Tournament, participants must be 16 years old or below as of 7th January 2024, and must be familiar with the rules of the Pokemon Trading Card Game.
Additionally, participants will need to obtain a Player ID from the Pokemon TCG Trainers Website in their residential region.
Participants who are interested in joining the tournament can start pre-registering on 7th December 2023 here, and the pre-registration period ending on 22th December 2023, with the results being announced on the following day.
Do note that pre-registered players must check in by 10:30 AM, and those who fail to do so will be dropped from the event.
After 11:30 AM, walk-in registrations will be accepted in a first-come, first-served basis provided if space is available, and participants will need to register for an account on the Trainer’s Website and will need to present their Trainer’s ID.
Dropped pre-registered players missing the 10:30 AM check-in can still register on-site as walk-ins if seats are open.
The U16 Tournament will be in a Swiss Draw format with 5 rounds, and each round will last 25 minutes.
Each participant who joins the U16 Tournament will receive one Present Pack along with one Grookey Bag Charm; While champions, finalist, and 3rd-4th place winners will receive one Certificate as well as one Pokemon logo T-shirt (140cm).
Deck Diagnosis for Beginners
Pokemon TCG players who wish to improve their decks can stop by the Deck Diagnosis booth for a thorough analysis by professional judges who can recommend cards to improve upon a player’s decks.
Starting at 6:30 PM on 5th January, and 10:30 AM on 6th and 7th January, players can bring in the decks that they want to improve, consisting of 60 cards along with some additional cards players may consider adding.
Each session will last for 30 minutes and each participant who joins in one of the sessions will get one Trainer card.

Throughout the three days of Pokemon TCG Showdown 2024, various other activities and events will be available, such as the Pikachu Meet and Greet that will happen on the 6th and 7th January 2024.
Available on all three days are the Pokemon Pop-up Store where event goers can explore and shop for a variety of Pokemon products including TCG decks.
Additionally, there will also be Pokemon Ga-Olé arcade machines for the Pokemon Ga-Olé enthusiasts out there.
