Bayonetta 3 has finally been given its time in the spotlight! With a new trailer and actual gameplay, it looks better than could have thought. Developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo, it’s scheduled to release on the Switch in 2022
The trailer at first fooled us into thinking this was an Astal Chain sequel but in reality, Bayonetta seems to be heading to Japan. The hack and slash goodness of the series is back in full force and Bayonetta’s new design is gorgeous. The end of the trailer also hints at a new character. Is Bayonetta getting her own Virgil equivalent? interesting.
Bayonetta 3 was announced all the way back at the Video Game Awards in 2017 with a little word of it since beyond confirmations that it was being worked on.
It took so long that Platinum games were able to release another Nintendo Switch exclusive, Astral Chain in the meantime. Hopefully, the wait has paid off with this new release.
Bayonetta 1 is available for the Nintendo Switch, Wii U PS4, Xbox One, and PC and Bayonetta 2 is available for the Switch and Wii U due to being published and funded by Nintendo.
Speaking of Bayonetta, the series creator Hideki Kamiya who also made the Devil May Cry series was recently been interviewed regarding his disapproval of retro video game auctions. It may sound a bit random but it’s an interesting read about the games industry.
