Following its announcement in May, DC has posted the teaser trailer for the all-new anime film, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League on their official Youtube channel. At Anime Expo 2024, Warner Bros Japan shared a first look at the anime with Batman being pitted against what appears to be evil versions of his allies.
Check out the teaser trailer below.
We will be returning to feudal Japan in Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League and it seems the antagonists this time are a small part of the Justice League consisting of The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Lantern. Robin has even dubbed them as the Yakuza League. How will Batman face off against his former allies?
Here’s how DC described the first Batman Ninja film that was released in 2018:
Batman Ninja takes a journey across the ages as Gorilla Grodd’s time displacement machine transports many of Batman’s worst enemies to feudal Japan – along with the Dark Knight and a few of his allies. The villains take over the forms of the feudal lords that rule the divided land, with the Joker taking the lead among the warring factions. As his traditional high-tech weaponry is exhausted almost immediately, Batman must rely on his intellect and his allies – including Catwoman and the extended Bat-family – to restore order to the land, and return to present-day Gotham City.
Junpei Mizusaki, who has previously worked on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Batman Ninja (2018), will be returning as the director for Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League and will be working alongside Kamikaze Douga and Shinji Takagi. Koichi Yamadera will also be returning as the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
The casting for the rest of the Yakuza League as well as the film’s official release date, have yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, the latest episode of Suicide Squad Isekai was released on July 3, 2024. The show focuses on Harley, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark stranded in a fantasy world.
