The medium of Anime has made waves across the world and the same can be said with the allure of Anime-styled games; in this collection of games, we take a look at Honkai Impact 3rd, League of Pantheons and Destiny Girl to check out the charm and appeal for each of the games! All of these games can be downloaded from the GameCenter app in their respective store page.
Intriguing Introductions
Before we go in depth to each of the games, let’s take a minute to go through what the games are about and how they play out. First on the list and possibly needing no introduction, would be the popular free-to-play 3D action role-playing game, Honkai Impact 3rd developed by MiHoYo. Players fill in the roles as the Captain in commandeering the Valkyries, an elite female group of warriors who are imbued with the very genes capable of countering the embodiment of chaos – Honkai, a raw and unbridled phenomenon whose ultimate goal is to destroy humanity.
League of Pantheons meanwhile is published by Neocraft Limited and is an Idle role-playing game where players are called summoners and they can create their own hero squad and play through various contents, such as the PVP/PVE modes. Summoners around the world have to band together to prevent evil forces from shrouding the world in darkness.
Similar to League of Pantheons, Destiny Girl published by Next2Play Games, is also an Idle role-playing game too. In Destiny Girl, characters in Western fantasy stories mixed in with Eastern history are transformed into lovely girls and under the ingenuity of the Captain, we jointly guard this land entangled by evil dragons.
Desirable Designs
Despite the difference in their gameplay genres for all of the three games, there is one major factor that all of us can set aside our differences and bond together as individuals, and that is being able to appreciate the scientifically and perfectly designed beautiful anime “waifus”. Gameplay is important and all of these games don’t lack in that department but being able to enjoy the game, all while at the same time taking in the view of your attractive units will make gameplay ten times more enjoyable!
With League of Pantheons and Destiny Girl being the idle genre, I personally think that these two games are able to fully show off the appeal and sexiness of the characters, whether if it’s when looking at the full illustrations of a character, checking through their stats and equipment gear, or even looking at a mini version of their chibi sprites during combat.
During my time of playing through Destiny Girl, I was fortunate enough to summon the lovely snow elf huntress, Artemis of the Cloudy Woods. After having Artemis in my main party and using her through a few missions, she quickly became one of my favourite huntresses where she can be killer in both looks and on the battlefield!
Artemis is a tall and beautiful snow elf who has luscious long white hair and is dressed in a qi-pao esque dress that successfully capitalises on her fair skin tone, as well as putting focus on her slender long legs. She also has light blue eye colour that brilliantly shines along with the gemstones on her bow. Another feature that I appreciate a lot in Destiny Girl is that all of the characters have their own Live2D model, which makes the character sprites a lot more lively as they bop around on your screen!
Meanwhile with League of Pantheons, my favourite unit is the polar opposite from the cool frost elf, the fiery and stern looking Valkyrie. Her original look when I first summoned her was that she too had shades of white for her hair while dressed in a relatively regal warrior princess attire, I was able to get one of her skins that completely changed her look.
She now has brunet brown hair tied in a high ponytail, which is already really nice, but her outfit has also changed into an Eastern-inpsired red dress that suits her fiery expression. Suiting to her name, she also gains a set of wings that completes the beauty of the Norse myth.
Last but definitely not least of the bunch would be Honkai Impact 3rd. Now Honkai is already extremely well known in the community for having tons of beauties in their ever growing roster of “waifus”, but my personal favourite from the bunch is definitely Yae Sakura, the head shrine priestess of the Yae Village.
There’s something alluring with the design of Yae Sakura that I can’t quite put my finger on. Perhaps the reason behind it would largely be due to her very traditional Japanese miko design in her outfit but also her cute rabbit ears playing a part of it. I think I fell in love with Ms. Yae when playing through her story quest as I was moved by her convictions of wanting to seek revenge on the ones who killed her younger sister. Her fast paced playstyle was super fluid and felt satisfying to combo her katana skills. But of course another reason why I enjoy her design a lot is from the alternate outfits that she gets, especially with her Flame Sakitama skin that changes her traditional shrine maiden outfit into an enticing wedding-esque attire which I had fun inspecting in the game’s dressing room!
So what are you waiting for, Honkai Impact 3rd, League of Pantheons and Destiny Girl can all be downloaded on the GameCenter!
