Bang Bravern, A New Anime Project Directed By Masami Obari, Announced

Cygames has announced a new anime project titled Bang Bravern, directed by famed mecha director Masami Obari.

In a new teaser video, they showed off two mech designs for the series- as well as announced the prolific director’s involvement.

Not much else is currently known about Bang Bravern – the project will be handled by Cygames Pictures, and it’s unknown if it will be another mixed media project similar to other Cygames titles like Granblue and Uma Musume.

Alternatively, it could just be a planned anime project for now, but until we get further information from Cygames we won’t know.

That being said, it looks like the series is very much going for the retro mecha anime flavor Obari is known for, with the key art featuring more muted colors and an overall grimier presentation.

Still, just the mention of Obari’s name is a good sign for mecha fans- the man has been involved in various iconic series with classics such as GaoGaiGar as well as guest artist roles for recent anime such as The Witch From Mercury.

He even featured as a running gag on Pop Team Epic, being responsible for the Great Bari Bari Team Epic mecha used in several gags of the anime, which even got released as a model kit.
