Bandai Spirits Brings Gundam Extravaganza to Malaysia

Bandai Spirits is thrilling Gundam enthusiasts in Malaysia with a dual celebration at MyTOWN Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur, combining their Hobby Exhibition with the prestigious GUNPLA BUILDERS WORLD CUP (GBWC). The free-admission event runs from October 4 to October 13, 2024, with daily operations from 10 AM to 10 PM.

The exhibition’s centerpiece is an impressive 1.8-meter MGEX STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM statue, drawing crowds to the shopping center’s event space. Visitors can explore Gundam’s rich anime history through an extensive model kit showcase, while GBWC participants display their craftsmanship in the 12th annual competition.

For hands-on enthusiasts, the event features GUNPLA and model kit workshops, offering visitors the opportunity to enhance their building skills. PREMIUM BANDAI has also confirmed the presence of new model kit prototypes at their dedicated booth, giving fans a glimpse of upcoming releases.

The celebration coincides with Gundam’s 45th anniversary, featuring special giveaways for attendees. Collectors and enthusiasts can also browse exclusive event-only items available for purchase. The GUNPLA BUILDERS WORLD CUP, a global competition organized by BANDAI SPIRITS, continues to showcase the creativity and technical expertise of model kit builders worldwide, with Malaysian participants contributing their entries to this international stage.

GBWC competitors will showcase their entries throughout the exhibition’s duration, with judging taking place on-site. The competition will reach its climax on October 13th with the results announcement ceremony. First-place winners from each course will advance to the World Final, details of which will be communicated to qualifying participants at a later date.
