Earlier today, Bandai announced a brand new set of Vital Bracelet Dim Cards based on the beloved Digimon Tamers anime series. Four new Dim Cards which are part of the “Dim Card GP vol. 01 Digimon Tamers” set are coming to the Vital Bracelet.
First things first—no, this is not an April Fool’s joke. Digimon Tamers debuted back on 1st April 2001. The release of these Tamers Dim Cards is to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the series.
As for the Dim Cards themselves, each one will have 8 Digimon. Each Tamers Dim Card contain only one Digivolution line, with a branching path of 3 Mega (Ultimate in Japan) Digimon. Here are the Digimon available in each Dim Card (note that these are the Japanese names of the Digimon).

Getting the Digimon Tamers Dim Cards
Unlike standard Dim Cards, these Dim Cards are only available for a limited time through the online Gashapon of Premium Bandai, Bandai’s online store. For those who are unfamiliar, Gashapon are vending machines that give out a random capsule containing merchandise or toys when tokens or coins are inserted.

Thus, a virtual Gashapon is Bandai’s way of bringing the Gachapon experience online. Unfortunately, the Tamers Dim Cards do not come with cute capsules.
Here are the details of the Tamers Dim Cards:
- Price: 880 yen (around 8 USD) inclusive of tax
- Availability of orders: 1st April 2021 11.00 am JST – 27th May 2021 11.00 pm JST
- Delivery date: Scheduled to ship in August 2021
Note that as this is a gacha, customers do not actually pay 880 yen to get a Dim Card, they are paying 880 yen for a chance to get a Dim Card. Customers have a 25% chance to get one of the four Tamers Dim Cards every time they spend 880 yen for a gacha pull. Thus, you might end up with a Dim Card that you do not want, or end up with many duplicates of the same Dim Card.
Unfortunately, for those based outside of Japan, you cannot try your luck in the Gashapon. The Tamers Dim Cards are not included in Premium Bandai’s overseas product list. As a result, the Dim Cards are only available to those in Japan with a Premium Bandai ID. Registering for this ID requires an address in Japan.
In conclusion, for those who do not stay in Japan, your best bet is to wait for the Tamers Dim Cards to appear in the stores of authorised resellers. While we wait for a way to pre-order the Digimon Tamers Dim Cards outside of Japan, Vital Bracelet owners can check out:
