The beloved RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 will receive official mod support in the anticipated Patch 7, which is scheduled for September 2024.
Announced via Steam community post, Larian Studios announced Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will include “an officially sanctioned toolkit for giving Lae’zel a mullet”.
The Baldur’s Gate 3 Toolkit, as officially called, will be available on PC first and later for the Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, arriving sometime in September 2024.
A closed alpha test for the toolkit has also kicked off today, with a handful of mod authors from the community being invited to try out the modding tools.
Then in July, Larian plans to launch a closed beta, capped at roughly 1,000 players, for users on PC to sign up for a chance to get involved in the testing.
“With the intention of working through your feedback throughout the summer, it will give us time to polish off Patch 7 ready for release in September,” the announcement reads.
“in the meantime, we still have plenty coming your way, including some anniversary extravagance as we look back on the months since release. We’re also still pressing on with the development of an in-game photo mode, crossplay, and more fixes that will arrive later down the line!”
Larian Studios, recently opened its seventh studio, in Warsaw, Poland, and it’s currently working on 2 new games under its own IP, moving away from Dungeons & Dragons.
