Baki: King of Souls is an upcoming mobile game based on the titular series, a project started in celebration of its 30th anniversary, as announced during a livestream prior to the anime broadcast. This isn’t the first Baki mobile game, with Bandai Namco Entertainment having released Baki the Grappler: Ultimate Championship in 2017. The latter game has already since been shut down, since March 2019.
Baki: King of Souls will be a free to play title, with in-app purchases as usual. It’s a fighting game currently set to launch in 2022 on Android and iOS, first only for Japan as far as we know. Characters from Baki and Baki Hanma will be appearing in the game. Both of those anime series is currently available to watch via Netflix, if you’d like to get to know the characters better first.
Actual details regarding the game are presently scarce, except that the fresh official Twitter account will be sharing previews of the playable characters in the game in the lead up to its launch. It doesn’t have an official website yet where people may check out the various pertinent information, like its developer for one, so stay tuned for that as well.
In the mean time, collabs with Muscle Deli, Fit Boxing 2, Kurand, and POP-UP Figures from Good Smile Company are all things you can have a look at now.
