Baiken will be returning to Guilty Gear Strive as the next DLC character. The one-armed, one-eyed Samurai will be arriving in the game in late January 2022.
While we have yet to see any gameplay of her in action, Arc System Works has released a trailer of the samurai returning to the game with her dark past seemingly coming back to haunt her.
Baiken was introduced to the series in the original Guilty Gear as a secret character that you could unlock by beating the game with Sol or Ky with no continues. She has since appeared in every main entry in the series. It was only a matter of time before she arrived in Strive as well.
In terms of design, Baiken seems to have not changed much since her appearance in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator 2.
Baiken will be the fourth DLC character in Guilty Gear Strive following Goldlewis Dickenson, Jack-O Valentine, and Happy Chaos. This means that there will be one final DLC character revealed for the first season of the game’s DLC. Baiken herself had also recently appeared as a crossover character in Samurai Shodown (2019).
She is also notable because she discredits a popular leak based on a game detamine that said That Man and Jam Kurodoberi would be the final two DLC characters. It does however support another leak that said, Baiken and Slayer will be in part of DLC. Does this mean Slayer will be next? We’ll have to wait and see.
Guilty Gear Strive is available for PS4 and PS5.
