Babylon’s Fall, Platinum Games’ newest game, showed off the first preview look at its gameplay at the most recent State of Play. Hopefully the trailer below will have to sate your appetite for now, as more information will be forthcoming only in 2020, “next summer”.
Atsushi Inaba, studio head of Platinum Games, considers the game “a new challenge” for the studio. Developed by Platinum Games and published by Square Enix, the title will be available on Playstation 4 and PC Steam.
The game seems to take place at some point in the future, with mentions of a “Judgement Day” in the year 5450. That’s pretty much all you can gather, apart from the really swish action. It’s somewhat reminiscent of the titular chains in Astral Chain, another of Platinum Games’ titles and one of its most recent ones too.
You’d be familiar with Platinum Games’ style from Bayonetta, Vanquish and others, so you can expect a similar level of action when the title does finally release. We’ll just have to wait and see for now and be satisfied with this bit of Babylon’s Fall gameplay preview.
