Publisher Devolver Digital unveiled the release window for Baby Steps, the new 3D physics-based platformer from the creator of Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.
As revealed during the State of Play of September 2023, Baby Steps is scheduled for the summer of 2024 for the PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam and is the work of Bennett Foddy, Gabe Cuzzillo, and Maxi Boch.
From developer Bennett Foddy, as well as Gabe Cuzzillo and Maxi Boch, the minds behind Ape Out, Baby Steps is a fully simulated physics-based game about walking.
In Baby Steps, players will play as Nate, an unemployed man who discovers a power he never knew he had… putting one foot in front of the other.
The game will feature a dynamic soundtrack that is built up out of 420 beats and vibes as players control Nate to hike a lengthy trek up a serene mountain by placing each footstep, one step at a time.
Players will take in the sights of the mountain as they hike, enjoying the local fauna, and try to find meaning in Nate’s wasted life in a slow and steady step forward.
Baby Steps is also said to feature a fully dynamic onesie stain system where Nate’s clothes will become dirtier and dirtier as players fall.
