Yesterday’s Azur Lane live stream revealed big news, chief amongst which is the collab with The Idolmaster (stylised as The iDOLM@STER). You can watch the full live stream on YouTube here:
The Idolmaster collab announcement, which happened at the 1:42:40 mark, happened in the form of a voiced cutscene. With the backdrop of the docks in Azur Lane, we are greeted with the silhouette of Takagi Junjirou, the president of 765 Production, the main talent agency of The Idolmaster series.
Catch him introducing himself to the commander (the player) below:
While The Idolmaster collab brings great news—it begs the question, who will be the event characters from the series? The Idolmaster has a large pool of talents to choose from, considering its numerous games and titles. We will most probably only know during the follow-up stream next month.
Regardless, we are fairly certain that players will be able to marry the idols in Azur Lane. Given the importance of Oath Rings, both as a feature that provides statistical advantage and also unlocks additional voice lines, players will most likely be able to marry The Idolmaster girls, which is a first for the franchise. This is further supported by the fact that Azur Lane players were already able to wed the Hololive characters, who are technically idols themselves.
