Staying true to the lore of the series, Azur Lane commanders will not be able to marry the event characters from The Idolmaster collab. The collaboration goes live tomorrow, July 22, 2021 and will run for 2 weeks until August 5, 2021.
Check out the PV for the event here:
Only 7 characters from The Idolmaster will be available in the collab with Azur Lane, all of whom are from 765 Pro. They are:
- Haruka Amami (Super Rare Light Cruiser)
- Chihaya Kisaragi (Super Rare Aircraft Carrier)
- Iori Minase (Super Rare Battleship)
- Azusa Miura (Super Rare Heavy Cruiser)
- Ritsuko Akizuki (Elite Munition Ship)
- Ami Futami (Elite Submarine)
- Mami Futami (Elite Submarine)
As per most of events, players can also expect different skins to be available for these characters. The new skins for the idols are festival yukatas. In addition, there will also be The Idolmaster-themed furniture for players’ dorm rooms.
However, unlike other shipgirls, the event characters are unable to be oathed. Instead of Oath Rings, players will be able to give the idols Pledge Rings and Tiaras. There will not be a wedding as a result, but the characters will receive the Unity relationship status instead of Oath. Unity still provides the same stat bonuses as Oaths, so gameplay-wise it is still identical.
We initially thought that the idols will be able to get married, but this new change highlighted above should let The Idolmaster fans breathe a sigh of relief.
