Yostar is premiering a new Azur Lane anime, titled Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! tonight on online streaming services in Japan.
No, this is not the second season of the Azur Lane anime which aired in 2019. Unlike that series, Bisoku Zenshin! is based on the 4-koma manga of the same name (Azur Lane: Slow Ahead! in English). The Azur Lane English Twitter page has been posting chapters of the manga as of late.
Even though both Azur Lane and Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! feature the same shipgirls, the latter is a slice-of-life anime, with each episode running for about 10 minutes. In addition, the story will be a lot more light-hearted and comedic, with each episode focusing on the daily life of the shipgirls. Z23 also plays a more prominent role, rather than being relegated to a side character in the 2019 anime.
Yostar Pictures is teaming up with CANDY BOX to animate this new series. Masato Jinbo, who also directed Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya‘s second, third and fourth seasons is also directing Bisoku Zenshin! The anime’s theme song is “Longing For!” sung by Emi Nitta.
Azur Lane fans should definitely consider watching Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! With Inverted Orthant and Operation Siren keeping Commanders busy, the anime should be a great way to relax and unwind.
