The definite finale to Attack on Titan and the continuation of the first half of its season finale now has a January 2022 release date. Unlike the first half of the Final Season, which aired in December ahead of most of the Winter 2021 anime releases, the second half will air in January together with most of its fellow releases.
This was confirmed earlier today on the anime’s website for its season finale. Unfortunately, no specific date was given for the release of Attack on Titan Final Season part 2, other than a general January release window.
There is also a new key visual for the second cour, as seen below:
Part 2 will kick off with the series’ 76th episode, “Daizai”, which could mean “Sentencing” or “Judgement” in English. Currently, it is uncertain how many episodes will part 2 comprise. In comparison, part 1 has 16 episodes.
Studio MAPPA will return to animate the second part of the series’ finale. The studio is also in charge of other upcoming anime like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen‘s second season. The voice cast from the first half will also reprise their roles, as with most of the staff, such as music composer Hiroyuki Sawano.
