Following the release of information regarding the Story and Classes in Etrian Odyssey III HD last week, SEGA has revealed further details in regards to sea exploration and the many gameplay elements surrounding it.
In Etrian Odyssey III HD, players will be able to Plot a sea chart, engage in trade and customize the equipment on your ship to suit the many situations and encounters at sea such as whirpools and pirates.
Oceanic Quests
Oceanic Quests is a multiplayer component of the game that allows five players to sail the seas together via the Internet or Local Network. Each player will be able to pick one of their adventurers to form a joint party to hunt the boss monsters roaming the ocean. Once the monster is defeated, players will be awarded equipment, limit skill items as well as other rewards.
The mode’s multiplayer component is purely optional however as players can also lead their own solo party to take on Oceanic Quests using the new Adventurer type Classes such as the Buccaneer, Sovereign and Arbalist.
Another feature that players can experience through the multiplayer component is Bartering. As the name implies, this will allow you to trade items with other players which has no limits regarding how many items you can trade or what you can choose to trade. Besides that, you may also share guild cards which contains details on the completion rate of collections as well as the number of adventures the player has gone on.
There are also several locations that may prove useful to the player during their adventures which include:
- Aman’s Inn
An inn where players can recover your HP and TP, treat ailments like petrification, or revive fallen party members. Items can also be stored away here. - Napier’s Firm
A shop where players can buy and sell weapons, armor, and items. The more materials you sell to the shop, the better equipment they will stock. You can also use the forge to craft new weapons. - Via Senatus
An establishment that serves as the political hub of Armoroad and act as a quest hub which when completing the missions will advance the story. Players may also report any new monsters or items they encounter here. - Butterfly Bistro
A bistro where players can accept quests, claim rewards, and collect information from other adventurers which can help move the story. - Explorers Guild
Players can register adventurers, form a party, and reorganize party members at this area. - Inver Port
A place where players can depart on a voyage or engage in multiplayer through Oceanic Quests. Players may also report discoveries here too.
Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection which includes Etrian Odyssey III HD will be available for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on the 1st of June 2023. For further information you may refer to their website.
