Strix SCAR Edition
As you may have noticed, both the name and design of Strix SCAR Edition is inspired by FN SCAR – the combat assault rifle packed by special forces and used in warfare. Crafted in gunmetal grey, the body of Strix SCAR Edition is packed into a compact body as thin as 2.3cm and as light as 2.5kg. Interestingly, the mirror-finish ROG logo at the lid lights up in red when the laptop is switched on.
The 15.6-inches FHD display supports up to 144Hz refresh rate so you could expect a smooth and accurate visual without lag and motion blur. The keyboard is featuring 4 hotkeys and 4 gorgeous RGB-backlit zones that are customizable. As the machine is specially designed for FPS players, WASD keys are highlighted and together with N-key rollover functions, you will be able to boost your precision. There is also a gun scope design on the trackpad.

Strix HERO Edition is featuring a unique design with sharp lines and Mayan patterns (on both the lid and the near keyboard area). Similar to Strix SCAR Edition, there is also a mirror-finish ROG logo at the lid that lights up when the laptop is on. It is measuring just 2.4cm thin and having a lightweight at only 2.5kg.
Its FHD display is 15.6-inches big (just like Strix SCAR Edition), but it only supports up to 120Hz refresh rate which is lower compared to Strix SCAR Edition. The keyboard is featuring 4 hotkeys and 4 customizable RGB-backlit zones too. Gaming Performance
We tested DOTA 2 (MOBA), Battlerite (MOBA), CS: GO (FPS) and PUBG (FPS) under the same graphics setting on both Strix SCAR Edition and Strix Hero Edition, here are the results:
-
Strix SCAR Edition
It can run at over 100 FPS on DOTA 2 and Battlerite easily, meanwhile when I am using it to play CS: GO it would even run up to 160 FPS (130 on average). It can also run 60 FPS or more on PUBG.
-
Strix Hero Edition
Strix Hero Edition runs 40 to 70 FPS on DOTA 2 and a steady FPS at around 55 on Battlerite. Playing CS: GO with it promises an average FPS of 60 but unfortunately, it could only run 60 FPS at most for PUBG which is a lower performance compared to Strix SCAR Edition.
