ASUS ROG has announced the ROG Ally, a gaming handheld device that runs on Windows 11. The ROG Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z1 series processor, high refresh-rate touchscreen and a lightweight and ergonomic design.
Performance
The ROG Ally comes equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z1 series processor with RDNA 3 graphics which supports a wide range of titles, from indie games to AAA titles. The handheld also uses a dual-fan system with ultrathin heatsink fins and high-friction heat pipes to make sure the device stays cool.
Additionally, the ROG Ally features a 120 Hz FHD 1080p display panel with a maximum brightness of 500 nits. It also features a touchscreen that lets users navigate seamlessly when changing settings or installing their next game.
Windows 11 Gaming
Running on Windows 11, users are able to access all their publisher libraries and game streaming services on a single device. Navigating the Windows desktop is made seamless through the Ally’s joysticks and buttons and touchscreen support.
A special edition of Armoury Crate will be making its debut with the ROG Ally. It comes customised with quick performance mode toggle , a game launcher, in-game monitoring software, Aura Sync support, and more. ROG will also be offering a bundled 90-day trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, giving users access to hundreds of titles.
Design
Weighing at 608g, the ROG Ally makes for a lightweight and portable handheld that allows for uninterrupted and comfortable gameplay. It’s handgrips are also ergonomically designed with unique triangle texturing on the rear which makes for a solid hold on the machine from any angle.
