Asuka Honkai Impact 3rd Gameplay Details Revealed

MiHoYo has revealed more details of the Asuka Honkai Impact 3rd battlesuit ahead of its addition in the upcoming Evangelion X Honkai Impact 3rd event.

The Asuka Honkai Impact 3rd battlesuit is called Blazing Hope, and can be obtained either via a supply banner or by collecting fragments from doing the special New Century event quest. This can drop fragments Blazing Hope, which you’ll need to either redeem Blazing Hope, or raise her rank.

The Blazing Hope Supply Banner has a pity rate of 25, guaranteeing you’ll get Blazing Hope in 25 pulls. In addition you’ll be able to get fragments for the characters at certain pull milestones, such as 10, 20, 40 and 60. By the 100th pull, you’ll have earned enough bonus fragments to get 100 fragments for the unit.

The generous pity rate comes at a price, though: After the event ends, MiHoYo have confirmed the battlesuit will no longer be available to pull. This is due to their licensing agreement with Studio Khara, who own the rights to the Evangelion characters. As a result, Asuka cannot be added to the game’s dorms either.

Gameplay Details

In combat, Blazing Hope makes use of her Field Energy, which is generated by doing her 5-hit combo. Holding down the attack button for different lengths will change her charged attack,  costing Field Energy.

Blazing Hope has a two-tiered ult, with the first being a powerful Install. This greatly boosts Asuka’s damage, as well as filling her Field Energy up to max.

Tapping her ult button again will disengage the Install with a flashy finisher, summoning a giant Spear of Longinus to do big AoE damage to nearby enemies.

Asuka Langley is the deuteragonist of the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, piloting the bright red Evangelion Unit-02. She was recently announced to be playable in Honkai Impact 3rd, as part of the upcoming event in the 4.5 update.
