Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Team ASOBI have announced an exciting series of updates for ASTRO BOT, set to begin on October 17. This marks the first in a series of five weekly updates, each introducing a new speedrun level and two additional Special Bots for players to rescue.
The update schedule is as follows:
- October 17: “Building Speed” speedrun level
- October 24: “Let it Slide” speedrun level
- October 31: “Spring-loaded Run” speedrun level
- November 7: “Helium Heights” speedrun level
- November 14: “Rising Heat” speedrun level
All updates will be available at 6:00 a.m. PT / 9:00 a.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. BST / 22:00 JST on their respective release dates.
Team ASOBI studio director Nicolas Doucet shared insights about the upcoming content on the PlayStation Blog. Additionally, he emphasized that they designed these new levels to challenge players’ platforming skills and added online leaderboards, allowing PlayStation users to compete in a friendly manner.
Moreover, the first level, “Building Speed,” introduces Barkster, the bulldog booster, who will assist players as they navigate through a sky-high city. Players can expect to dodge cranes, smash through crates, and even speed through a flying car wash while attempting to rescue their stranded crew. In addition, all of these updates will be available at no additional cost to players.
Each new ASTRO BOT level from the will also feature two new Special Bots to rescue, adding a total of 10 new characters to collect over the course of the updates. While they have teased some characters, such as Eve from Stellar Blade and characters from Helldivers, players must discover the identities of the remaining Special Bots themselves.
