Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Controller Arrives this September

PlayStation has just announced the release of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller, to accompany the upcoming Astro Bot game for PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2024. Sony Interactive Entertainment designed the special edition controller to complement the new game, which features over 50 planets, new power-ups, and an array of PlayStation-infused characters.

The controller features Astro’s signature blue accents on the handles and buttons, along with carved-in sci-fi lines and the character’s trademark playful eyes on the touchpad. Furthermore, the team at Sony carefully designed this special edition controller to complement the game’s aesthetic.

The new Astro Bot game, developed by Team Asobi, promises over 50 planets to explore, new power-ups, numerous enemies, secrets, and PlayStation-inspired characters to collect. The game also incorporates the DualSense controller as a living character, assisting Astro on his mission.

Team Asobi has showcased various ways the game utilizes the DualSense controller’s features. The game offers enhanced haptic feedback to simulate different surfaces Astro traverses, including grass, sand, metal, and water, providing a more immersive experience. Adaptive triggers combined with haptic feedback are used for new power-ups, such as the Barkster bulldog jetpack, giving players a dynamic and tactile sensation.

The developers have also improved feedback for enemy encounters and boss battles, making combat more engaging. Additionally, the Dual Speeder, a recurring gadget in the game, makes full use of motion control, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback, further demonstrating the controller’s capabilities in enhancing gameplay.

The Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller will be available in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam and prices vary by region.
