Astria Ascending is a new RPG currently in development that will be available for PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch later this year in Japan. Amongst the noteworthy names involved in its development include Kazushige Nojima as writer and Hitoshi Sakimoto as composer.
This announcement surfaced online through 8th April’s issue of Weekly Famitsu. You can give it a view on Bookwalker. Do note that it is in Japanese.
According to the magazine, the game is a reimagining of 2015 iOS title Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey. Note that Astria Ascending is not just a simple remaster, but a completely overhauled experience that features the same setting.
This new title features 3goo as its publisher and Artisan Studios as its developer. While there is not a lot of information regarding an English release, it is likely that it will get one in the future. Considering the fact that Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey had an English version and Artisan Studios is in Canada, the chances are high.
Astria Ascending‘s story is credited to Kazushige Nojima. Nojima wrote many of the Final Fantasy titles, including the original Final Fantasy VII and its Remake. The game’s composer, Hitoshi Sakimoto, worked on the Valkyria Chronicle series and Final Fantasy XII.
