At the Ubisoft Forward Assassin’s Creed showcase, we were given more details on the franchise’s new Netflix adaptation.
The Assassin’s Creed Netflix series will be co-developed by Netflix and Ubisoft Film and Television.
The showrunner of the series will be Jeb Stuart, most well known for being the writer for the original Die Hard as well as The Fugitive and Lock Up.
This will not be the first time the Assassin’s Creed series has made entries outside of video games. The series has previously seen the ‘Assassin’s Creed Lineage’ series of Youtube short movies, the animated short ‘Assassin’s Creed Embers’, and the 2016 Hollywood Live Action movie ‘Assassin’s Creed’ starring Michael Fassbender.
We currently have little information about the Netflix Assassin’s Creed series as it is still early in development. We don’t know if it will be based on one of the video games or feature a completely different story. The series was described as being “genre-bending” however.
The developers also briefly mentioned a new mobile game is also in development for Netflix. Once again, we know little about this new game other than it will be coming to Netflix’s gaming service. Netflix began launching a series of mobile games on its platform last year and has brought some quality titles to the platform. These include Stranger Things 3: The Game and Exploding Kittens.
