The Asia-Pacific Predator League 2022 Grand Finals started today, celebrating the hottest esports across the region.
At their opening press conference in Tokyo, Japan, Acer Director of Marketing shared that this year’s theme would be “Unite As One”- symbolizing the DOTA 2 and PUBG fans all coming together across national borders to celebrate their favorite titles.
This even came with a new way for fans to show their support for the esports tournament- the new Predator League handsign made to emulate the Predator logo.
They’d also set the stage for the 2024 edition- with the Asia-Pacific Predator League heading for The Philippines next.
The 2022 Asia-Pacific Predator League sees multiple countries taking part, such as Vietnam- a juggernaut for PUBG with many young players getting into the game.
As such hosting the first in-person event in three years in Japan is a great symbol of that- even though PC gaming is only at 20% adoption rate in Japan, Acer says that number is trending upwards, with games like DOTA only continuing to grow in popularity.
The event will be held over 3 days, with events for both esports titles taking place every day before the grand finals on Sunday, 13th November and can be viewed on the Predator Gaming YouTube channel.
