Hypergryph has unveiled a new teaser trailer, a gameplay showcase, and details on an upcoming technical test of Arknights: Endfield after the absence of news for more than a year.
Since its initial announcement, Hypergryph has gotten pretty tight-lipped on the development of Arknights: Endfield, however, a new teaser trailer, a 4-and-a-half-minute-long gameplay video, and a technical test announcement were dropped today.

A New World?
The teaser trailer itself showcased a good amount of reveal in regards to the game’s setting and narrative, throwing players into the planet of Talos-II instead of returning to Terra of Arknights.
From the 3-minute trailer, it would seem that the game will either be an alternate universe of Arknights or simply take place far into the future.
Throughout the trailer, we are met with various characters, some completely new faces while others bear a resemblance to the memorable cast of Arknights such as Kal’tsit and Ch’en.
By the end of the trailer, we also got a tease of an unknown character with a silhouette that would remind players of Angelina.
It seems that Catastrophes and the fictional mineral of Originium that they brought along will still play an important aspect in the world.
Talos-II seems to be overrun by creatures known as Aggeloi and they bear a resemblance to the Arts Creation enemies from Arknights.
A part of the trailer also shows that some inhabitants of Talos-II also seem to be afflicted with the Blight, reminiscent of the Oripathy of Arknights.
Now, players will be taking on the role of Endministrator and is tasked to assist Endfield Industries in ensuring Talos-II is habitable and safe for civilization.
Gameplay Showcase
As previously mentioned, Hypergryph has also revealed a gameplay showcase video alongside the new trailer, unveiling what the game will be like.
Arknights: Endfield will be a real-time third-person action RPG with elements of strategic gameplay and team building while boasting 3D graphics which differs it from its 2D predecessor.
As shown, the game will feature a combat system where your entire squad will be present on the battlefield, actively participating in battle, and you can switch between each character to execute a variety of skills.
Settlement building and construction would also seem to be a large part of the game as players can be seen creating various structures and beacons, even needing to connect electricity to fire up certain devices.
The gameplay reveal, new trailer, and announcement of its first Technical Test followed a sudden update on the official Arknights: Endfield Twitter, where an image and the following caption were posted.
“Before the catastrophe worsens, we must eliminate all hazards, save the survivors, and restore the base to full operations. Our operators are ready for action. Let us begin, Endministrator.”
This caption seemingly hints that Hypergryph will be more active in marketing Arknights: Endfield, which now turns out to be the case as they dropped various new information about the game.
There is no estimated release schedule revealed yet, but Arknights: Endfield is currently in development for Android, iOS, and PC.
