China-based publisher and developer Tencent has just revealed more details on the release of Arena Breakout, its upcoming strategy FPS for the Android and iOS platforms. After completing a beta in August 2021, the game is set for another round of closed beta tests before its official release in China on 26 July 2022, according to Tencent.
At first glance, Arena Breakout will be somewhat familiar if you have played the likes of PUBG, Call of Duty: Warzone and Escape From Tarkov. If anything, the latter best describes what the experience of playing Tencent’s offering is like due to its environments and gameplay. For example, unlike battle royales where you are usually offered an opportunity to revive, Escape From Tarkov does not offer any respawns, so you are going to be losing all progress and gear upon death. This is survival in the truest sense of the word, and Arena Breakout intends to bring that experience to the mobile.
If this feels like something you are into, then you should know that you can still sign up for the CBT that is happening on 17 May 2022 via the official website. As mentioned earlier, the game is scheduled for a launch in July solely for the Chinese market, with no word if there will be a global version, at least for now.
