ForwardWorks has just announced that it will be closing the Japanese server for Arc the Lad R on 30 June 2021, which has been running since August 2018. While it will not live to see its third year anniversary, the game has had its final update roadmap showcased for the remainder if its lifespan. Among other things, we will see the the completion of the main story
Furthermore, Arc the Lad R is currently running a Special Fes Gacha that will include prior exclusive characters and costumes, although real money purchases has been disabled with this update. Furthermore, all unused paid gems will be handled accordingly until 30 September 2021. To recap, Arc The Lad R serves as a direct sequel and continues where the original series left off. Tsuchida Toshiro, the producer of Arc the Lad 1 and 2 took on the mantle again for the project, alongside other staff from the original series.
While it is unfortunate that the Japanese server will be no more, Boltrend Games will be publishing the global version of the game, so it lives on in a different form.
