Apple had announced support for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 controllers on Apple TV back in 2019, and will now also support Xbox Elite Wireless Controller 2 and Xbox Adaptive Controller. Both announcements were made at WWDC, one year apart (2019 and 2020). This would be a welcome addition, with the latter controller being designed to make gaming more accessible to those with limited mobility.
Xbox Elite Wireless Controller 2:
The all-new Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 features over 30 new ways to play like a pro, including adjustable-tension thumbsticks, new interchangeable components, up to 40 hours of rechargeable battery life, and limitless customization with the Xbox Accessories app on Xbox One and Windows 10.
Xbox Adaptive Controller:
Create a custom controller experience that is uniquely yours. Designed primarily to meet the needs of gamers with limited mobility, the Xbox Adaptive Controller features large programmable buttons and connects to external switches, buttons, mounts, and joysticks to help make gaming more accessible.
With a large variety of games available to the Apple family of devices through Apple Arcade, more people can play how they want when they subscribe to the game library, or even any other games on the App Store. While gamers wait on the iOS version of the Razer Kishi, they can go ahead and utilize the Xbox controller of their choice on Apple TV.
