Apple just unveiled a new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Godzilla series, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” that’s set to premier globally on November 17th.
“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” is set to premier globally on November 17th, exclusively on Apple TV+, Apple’s streaming service.
The series will debut with the first two episodes, followed by an episode every Friday until January 12th.
Taking place after the battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps that uncovers their family’s connection to the secretive organization, Monarch.
The clues they uncovered leads them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell). The story takes place from two perspectives, in the 1950s and half a century later, where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.
This dramatic saga that spans three generations reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events that can reverberate through our lives.
The series is based off Legendary Entertainment’s ever-expanding Monsterverse, which consists of films such as Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), with another film, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” releasing in the near future.
Plans for the development of a Godzilla series were originally unveiled by Apple last year.
The series will premiere globally on Apple TV+ alongside other shows such as “Silo”, “Foundation”, and the second season of the critically acclaimed “Invasion” .
