Apple has unveiled the iPhone 16e, a new addition to its iPhone 16 lineup that combines powerful features with affordability. The device features Apple’s latest A18 chip and introduces the company’s first in-house designed cellular modem, the Apple C1.
The iPhone 16e sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display and comes in two matte finishes: black and white. The device boasts impressive battery life, lasting up to six hours longer than iPhone 11 and 12 hours longer than any iPhone SE model.
Notable features include a 48MP Fusion camera system with an integrated 2x Telephoto capability, effectively providing two cameras in one. The phone supports 4K video recording with Dolby Vision at up to 60 fps and includes Spatial Audio recording capabilities. The A18 chip delivers significant performance improvements, with the 6-core CPU performing up to 80% faster than the A13 Bionic found in iPhone 11. The device also features a 4-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine optimized for machine learning tasks.
Apple Intelligence integration brings new capabilities such as the Clean Up tool for photo editing, natural language photo search, and enhanced Siri functionality with ChatGPT integration. The phone includes an Action button for quick access to various functions and features visual intelligence capabilities for object and text recognition.
The iPhone 16e will be available for pre-order starting February 21, with general availability beginning February 28. The device is IP68 rated for water resistance and features Ceramic Shield protection for enhanced durability.
