A Korean game appears to have riffed off Kimetsu no Yaiba / Demon Slayer for their mobile game. Developed by Tennine, there certainly is at least some really close similarities, if not outright plagiarization. The developer naturally denies any direct lifting of the property.
From what we can tell, though, the art style is just a bit too on the nose to not be a wholesale rip off, and the story is also “similar”. The main character looks far too much like Tanjiro of Kimetsu, and if we look at the feature image even closer, that may not be the only series they’ve been inspired by. Granted, you can take this with a dash of salt.
It’s curious to see this Korean game be released when Kimetsu no Yaiba / Demon Slayer itself will be releasing a mobile game this year, besides a console game for next year. Keppu Kengeki Royale is so far only known as an asymmetrical battle survival game, though details are currently not known.
You can check out more screengrabs of the Korean game below. We’ll see if this somehow ends up in a court case if it gets big enough. What do you think?
