Season 16 of Apex Legends is on the horizon, and with a new seasons comes a new update. Titled as Revelry, let’s see what Respawn has in store for us.
Legends
With a roster of 23 legends strong, Season 16 will be the first time that a new legend won’t be introduced. However, Legends in the Apex Games are getting more legendary with new remastered classes switches up the roles we know.
The roster is now divided into 5 roles: Assault, Skirmisher, Recon, Controller and Support to better highlight what makes every legends stand out, along with special perks for each. Additionally, 6 legends including Wraith, Lifeline and Seer will be getting an update, so stay tuned for more details.
Mixtape
The start of Season 16 will see TDM making its return, along with the Mixtape – a rotation of fan favourite community modes that adds in some variety for Apex Legends. This new feature will give players more ways to compete as they can jump into a playlist of game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Control, and Gun Run with little downtime in between. The Mixtape launches 3 weeks after the launch of Season 16.
New Player Onboard
First-time players in the Outlands can now try out the new Orientation Match System. It creates an easy introduction where new players can gather their bearings and learn the core mechanics of Apex Legends, reducing the game pressure overall.
Play solo or bring friends in to drop some frags against bots before joining n the regular matchmaking queue without the worries of being chewed out by the regulars.
Additionally, to celebrate Apex Legends’ anniversary and its amazing community, every player will be receiving login bonuses for the first two weeks of Revelry.
Logging in from 14th February till 21st February will have players unlock Crypto automatically with a thematic Pack that includes a guaranteed item for him. Login from 21st February till 28th February will have players unlock Ash as well as one of her themed pack.
Apex Legends will be adding in Welcome Challenges that includes a new set of 10 challenges that helps out new players learn some of the advanced mechanics like shield swapping and breaking down doors. These challenges won’t just be for new players, veteran players can also access them to sharpen up their skills. Completing all 10 challenges will net you an Apex 101 Badge for your collection.
Shots Fired
While Season 16 will see no new legends being added, a new weapon will be dropping in the Outlands. Introducing the Nemesis, a new energy class Assault Rifle that fires four rounds per burst. With a ramping burst delay that decreases the time between bursts and simulates a fully automatic weapon, the Nemesis is sure to be a game changer.
Firing range updates are coming over the next couple of seasons. In Season 16, the firing range will add in more features that allow players to effectively track and train their game skills. Players can now set the dummy’s movement, movement speed and armour. Moreover, players can view shooting performances with displays of how many rounds fired, damage inflicted, headshot rates, kill rates and hit rates, all while having unlimited ammunition.
Anniversary
It wouldn’t be an anniversary season without a brand new anniversary collection event. Featuring all new community content but also celebrations in game, every map in rotation will have anniversary dressings and Apex Legends will be bringing back a fan favourite content that players can find out when the Season 16 goes live.
