Apex Legends Mobile regional tests will be commencing later in April, for real, after supposed limited playtests and news swirling about the mobile version floated around. You can read the official announcement here, summarized as follows:
- Specially designed for touchscreens, with streamlined controls and thoughtful optimizations that result in the most advanced battle royale combat available on a phone
- A new version of Apex Legends, but “true to the original”
- A few thousand players in the Philippines and India will get first access
- More regions and players to follow throughout the year
- Android only for now, iOS to follow
- Pre-registration and beta sign ups to go live when they’re ready
- No cross-play due to being specially built for mobile
- Free to play, with its own Battle Passes, collectible cosmetics, and unique unlockables
The Apex team have also premiered the next content update teaser for the PC / console versions of the game – Stories from the Outlands – “Northstar” – which you can watch below:
Valkyrie’s been pulling smuggling jobs for years, but she didn’t take this one for the money. Still, someone’s got to pay…
Updates about the game can also be found via their official Twitter, so keep an eye out for that beta access.
