The upcoming Season 15 of Apex Legends will be featuring a brand new map called the Broken Moon, a new defensive Legend Catalyst and of course, the all new Eclipse Battle Pass where players can complete daily and weekly challenges to earn rewards.
New Map – Broken Moon
The Broken Moon map is similar in size to one of Apex Legends‘ most popular map – World’s Edge and features a wide array of terrain both extra-terrestrial and borderline familiar. The locations in the map ranges from glamorous gardens, to a gigantic terraforming machine, to a filthy wharf.
Zip Rails
The new mode of transportation in Broken Moon will be the Zip Rails. It is a fast but predictable way to travel between locations as well as an effective method to outrun the ring. These rails are set up along predetermined paths for Legends to quickly move from one Point of Interest (POI) to another as players can get through challenging rotations and move within points of some of the larger landmarks.
While riding the rails, you’ll have all the same functions available to you as a zip line, but with the added bonus of increased speed and momentum.
Points of Interest
The new Apex Legends Season 15 map is packed with large POIs which gives comfort to players on a safer place to land, allowing multiple squads the time to loot before firing their first shots. The Zip Rails also offer players a way to close the gap in quick fashion or escaping a risky situation.
Terraformer
The Terraformer is a massive symmetrical structure that resides off-center of the Broken Moon map. It is a “King-of-the-hill” drop spot that offers a plethora of loot that can support up to 4 teams with comfortable landing spots. The central position of power can be used to effectively defend against enemy fire from within the walls, but players can’t be too comfortable as there are ways to infiltrate and overthrow the team in power.
Stasis Net Array
The Stasis Net Array area is a completely asymmetrical space with a central area filled with loot. There are also many ways to escape and flank the main structure area, so legends can either retreat or move into the fight to contest this POI.
Atmostation and Backup ATMO
Research buildings to the left and right offer landing spots for players to loot and assault the main tower structure. Players can either pass through the narrow bridge or take the Zip Rails all the way to the top. Alternatively, nearby water silos can also act as a safe location, should there be too much heat elsewhere.
Perpetual Core
As the sole source of power on the moon, this huge area supports big fights and multiple landings. While the Core itself acts as the main set of power, it can also be an easy target for enemies to attack. The uplift from the turbines below as well as the surrounding Zip Rails can offer players unique ways to escape.
Bionomics
Bionomics is a tightly packed set of circular structures with rooftops where players can play on. There are also plenty of opportunities for vertical flanking along with sneaky healing spots for this POI.
The Divide
The Divide is a clustered spot of vertical houses that are filled with loot, separated by bridges and connected by Zip Rails. This is a fast paced, high energy POI where player’s skills on the Zip Rails are essential to ensure victory.
Alpha Base
Alpha Base’s densely packed lunar buildings rest inside a giant moon-crater. The exterior walls will keep the fights within and the tight interior spaces will have players commit in heavily if there were to push in.
Eternal Gardens
The Eternal Gardens is home to a long-range field of flowers and trenches, this POI also contains a central tower that has the only Jump Tower on the moon. While it was originally meant as a means of celebration, it also works as a crafty way to reposition for a fight or even rotating to another zone.
Breaker Wharf
A symmetrical space built for mid-range combat and is connected by a bridge as well as a Zip Rail. The parallel structures at Breaker Wharf is packed with multiple layers of verticality which allows players to reposition between them. Flanked by additional Zip Rails, it’s also acts as an easy way to get around the map or rotating to another POI.
Production Yard
The Production Yard is another large location on the map, having a bullseye landing pad and two adjacent landings on the extent of this T-shaped structure. There’s also lots of loot nestled within the corridors, packed with a central honeypot to players to fight over.
The Foundry
This large POI features a divided central hub that is split by two long arms filled with loot as well as enough landing spots for around 4 teams. The integrated Zip Rails in this POI lets players to travel across the main hub quickly or even to reposition for a fight.
Dry Gulch
The Dry Gulch is an asymmetrical location that is divided by a short bridge that coincidentally also acts as a funnel for rotation between the two halves of this POI. The gulch features fast-paced and multilayered fights with tightly packed interior spaces.
Cultivation
Cultivation is made up of a low-lying collection of circular greenhouses that connects to a large central greenhouse, which also acts as the seat of power in this location. While it’s easily defendable on all sides, the waterways cutting through this zone offer sneaky routes to loot up and launch an attack to the main structure undetected.
Promenades
The Promenades is a huge vertically visible landmark offers a focused hallway fight with Zip Rails throughout. Flank routes pocket the interior spaces, while the exterior is the main central funnel between the north and south of the Broken Moon.
