As promised, The Game Awards 2018 revealed a new trailer for Bioware‘s upcoming game, Anthem today. The new trailer introduced more backstory for the game.
The trailer reveals the the main antagonist of Anthem known as Monitor. Leading the faction known as the Dominion, he is at odds with the player’s faction, the Freelancers. On one hand, the Freelancers fight to protect the people. On the other hand, the Dominion intends to bring peace through force.
Although the game looked more like Destiny compared to other classic Bioware games, Anthem will still focus on balancing both combat and story. Fans would be pleased to know that the game will keep the dialogue-focused gameplay of previous games.
Previously, Bioware released some details on the game. The main hub, Fort Tarsis, is where players obtain quests and interact with NPC’s. Depending on the player’s choices, their relationship with a specific NPC will vary. However, unlike previous Bioware AAA games, romance will not feature in Anthem. The romance aspect played a large part in the storytelling of Mass Effect and Dragon Age series. The option to forgo it may seem off for some fans.
Anthem is now available for pre-order on the EA site. Other than the Standard Edition, another edition known as The Legion of Dawn Edition is also available. Players who pre-order The Legion of Dawn Edition will receive VIP demo access.
If you have been following us, we wrote on the closed alpha test last week. Anthem will launch on the 22nd February 2019. The game will be available on the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more information on the game, you can head over to the Anthem official site.
