2K Games has announced WWE 2K Battlegrounds, a completely new WWE gaming experience that will feature arcade-style action and over-the-top Superstar designs, environments and moves. The game will be focused on social pick-up-and-play fun, while still offering depth to those who look for it.
Enjoy the WWE video game action in a new way with WWE 2K Battlegrounds! The game is being developed by Saber Interactive, the same studio behind NBA 2K Playgrounds. The new WWE game is scheduled for a Fall 2020 launch, so look forward to more details in the months to come!
Besides that, WWE 2K20 is also mentioned; the game has received five title updates since launch, addressing a multitude of concerns alongside WWE 2K20 Originals DLC to build on and improve the experience. WWE 2K19 servers will also remain running for now, as part of listening to user feedback.
A new WWE 2K simulation game will not be released in 2020 (T2 fiscal year 2021) to ensure a quality product to satisfy veterans as well as newcomers. Patrick Gilmore is now Executive Producer at Visual Concepts to lead efforts at the company moving forward. He has over 25 years of experience in video games, reaching all the way back to Disney’s Aladdin on Sega Genesis, and including franchises like Killer Instinct, Medal of Honor, and, most recently, Amazon’s New World, and will be overseeing WWE 2K development. More from him and the team to come.
Last but not least is WWE SuperCard, now in its sixth season and achieving a milestone of over 20 million installs. Expect more card tiers, game modes, in-game events and announcements as Cat Daddy continues to roll out content.
2K and WWE are reaffirming a long-term commitment to expand the WWE Games family in ways that directly benefit the fans, putting in the time to deliver the quality you’ve come to expect. Look forward to future alerts regarding the franchise!
