The Genshin Impact Twitter account has announced a crossover featuring Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn.
This afternoon the official Twitter has been revealing card art for characters previously shown during the Inazuma trailer for Genshin’s 2.0 update. However, they just showed a previously unannounced character is coming to Genshin Impact – Aloy.
According to the Hoyolab website Aloy will be a timed exclusive to the PS4/PS5 versions of the game, being sent to players for free after the server maintenance ahead of the 2.1 update. After the 2.2 maintenance update, all other users will receive the character for free.
Given the semi-exclusivity of the character, it’s not known if you’ll be able to use her if you redeem her on the PS4 version but use Cross-saves.
Genshin Impact is no stranger to crossovers, with their own character Fischl walking into miHoYo’s other gacha game, Honkai Impact 3rd. However this marks the first actual crossover with another brand not owned by the same company.
Genshin Impact Aloy Details
Dubbed “Savior from another world”, Aloy is a Cryo Bow user. miHoYo haven’t elaborated on things like her toolset yet, however, though we can expect to hear more about those closer to the character’s release date.
The character is a seemingly good fit for a crossover in Genshin Impact- although she doesn’t exactly have ice powers in either of the Horizon games, she also doesn’t use guns, unlike other first-party Sony characters like Joel from the Last of Us or even Ratchet and Clank.
