THQ Nordic has delayed the release of Alone in the Dark from its initial release date in October to January of next year for a more strategic release date.
According to official Alone in the Dark Twitter account, the anticipated reimagining of the cult classic has been pushed back from October 25th 2023 to January 16th 2024.
“Horror games thrive on the eerie embrace of solitude, something that is impossible to achieve in a gaming month as busy as October. To ensure a breathtaking experience for everyone, we have made the decision to move the release of #AloneInTheDark to January 16, 2024.” they said.
The reasoning for this delay is due to October being a month filled with big releases, which would ultimately hinder the release of Alone in the Dark, as it is a smaller title.
Fans on Twitter seem to think it’s the correct decision, as they feel the delay would put the game in a brighter spotlight away from all the other big releases in October.
“That’s understandable. I was just looking at the list of games coming out in October. Take the time needed. There are a few other factors I could think of that come to play that makes this decision viable. The game already looks great.” they said.
